Why I Give...

"Part of the joy of being a nurse is being able to give back to our profession. Being involved in a nursing organization allows us the opportunity to support the next generation of nurses. Contributing financially to a scholarship is one avenue in which we can give back. We've all been blessed by those that have 'gone before us' so let's work together and 'pay it forward' by contributing to the future nursing workforce."

- Jessica Varghese, PhD, RN, Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar

"As a senior research scientist and faculty member, I feel compelled to support our students to make participation in ENRS and our Annual Scientific Sessions readily accessible. I often bring groups of students with me to the conference, and it has been a transformative for them and for me. Please join me in making it possible for our students to become engaged in ENRS and to see the value of advancing nursing science and evidence translation to improve patient outcomes."

- Ann Marie P. Mauro, PhD, RN, CNL, CNE, FAAN, President-Elect (2018-2020)

"One way that contributes and invests in the future of ENRS is to share one talents, time, and treasury. As a Treasurer, I give the three T's knowing that my prosperity allows ENRS to grow and promote nursing science. When you give and share your prosperity to the 30th Anniversary Fundraiser New Conference Travel Scholarship Fund, your prosperity leaves a legacy. A legacy celebrating 30 Years of Nursing Science."

- Donna Nickitas, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, CNE

"By giving back and investing in ENRS, we are essentially paving the way for the next generation of junior nurse scientists. In today's ever changing and demanding healthcare environment, identifying, supporting and developing nurse scientists is critical to moving the profession forward. I am proud to support the Conference Travel Scholarship program and encourage all to demonstrate your commitment to achieving the vision and mission of ENRS by supporting this program."

- Nikki Fiore-Lopez, PhD, RN, CENP

“I found my way into nursing because I wanted to give something to society. Thirty years later, not much has changed…except “something” is often framed by an organizational mission, and I have the privilege of looking back on 30 years without regret. I GIVE, so that I can continue to be inspired by the good work of organizations like ENRS….and so that I will one day have the privilege of looking back on 40 and 50 years without regret."

- Annie Rohan
